Re: Album or not

Some plastics such as PVC should be avoided as these are more harmful than the old album pages. Until a few years ago albums were being sold for postcard collections in PVC and this type of page is still available, though most reputable suppliers such as Rob Roy now sell polypropylene which is inert...

Re: Advise on pricing please

Those you show are all relatively common, though you may get some interest on the Zeebrugge raid set as it ties in with the WW1 centenary.

Back Online

The Postcard Messageboard is now back online.
My apologies for the outage over the past few days. We've moved to a new server and there were some compatibility issues to overcome.

Re: Advice on collection

'Detachable' postcards, midget photos and lettercards were invariably produced for the tourist market using the most popular views available.
This is nearly always the case though occasionally more interesting views surface in these formats.

Usually difficult to sell, and value is at the lower end.

Re: Postcard copyright issues

Thanks for the information. There is a need for a simple record of postcard publishers showing date of commencement, date of ceasing new publications (if applicable), name and contact details of firm or current copyright holder, and comments. Does this exist or do I need to start it? Is there a boo...

Re: Question about prints

300 dpi (or dots per inch) is the standard requirement for printing an image 'same size' If you've scanned your card at a lower dpi rate than this you can use photoshop to 'resample' the image. (Image > Image Size > Resolution ) ... Photoshop does a reasonable job of this but the result will be a mu...
