This looks much more like an illustrator's mark than a printers. However there is an English-language site which covers Geman postcard printers
and the author may know more about OZ's arragementsL: http://www.tpa-project.info/body_index.html

Re: Which is the Front, and which is the Back?
Postal authorities have always described the side with the address on as the front, which is logical as letters for instance have the address on the front. Nearly everybody else describes the picture side as the front. An article (in French but goole will translate it) is here: https://museedelacart...

Re: "Halfpenny Packet Post" not acceptable for PC
The panoramic cards I have, of similar date, are "Panoramicard"s published by WHSmith, they say they could still be posted for a ha'penny as PRINTED MATTER if the only message on them was a signature. Does your card contain any message?

Re: East London
The ones I have so far are on http://rthcards.co.uk/, not many in the East London river area. I am happy to swap cards if there any you don't have. The pictures on the site have all been despotted etc so some are not as pristine as they may appear.

Amateur postcards
I have a card posted in 1907, a view near Harrogate, which on the reverse says "This is one of my first efforts in photography. What do you think of it?"
Was this common? It would explain why so many photo cards have no publisher's marks.

Re: East London
Ouch! So am I, at least the river ones, maybe why that's why I see so few of them! My own interest is actually only in scanning so if I find any treasures I'll let you know.

Re: Postcards are Instructional
Alas my own cards provide no examples, but a search of Ebay for "How to postcard" produces some saucy examples in the seaside postcard tradition!

I have just realised that my posts are not actually relevant to the recent question, which was about Arthur J Dixon cards. Here are a couple of refs to that firm which might be helpful:

Postcards at letter rate
A postcard has in the stamp box "PRINTED PAPER RATE. You are allowed a greeting of 5 words and name and address for Half-penny postage". Can anyone tell me the range of dates when postcards could be sent in this way? I have actually seen the answer somewhere in the past but lost it in my f...

Re: Painting out the sky
My point is, it is hardly an embellishment to take a bite out of the side the Richmond tower or wipe out half of a lamp on the bridge, or to make all the trees look like cardboard cutouts! This is visible even on the cards themselves without magnification. Whatever the aim was, I wish they hadn't do...

Painting out the sky
I have several photographic cards where the producer has painted out the sky, following the skyline and painting round trees, chimneys etc quite coarsely when looked at closely. This would be to lighten grey skies. The worst offender of the cards I have is WHA - eg http://rthcards.co.uk/fullsize.htm...

Re: To eBay or not to eBay?
Maybe true, but a worring trend is that the Delcampe pictures (in "enlarged" form) are now often too small to judge the condition of a postage stamp,
let alone a postcard. At least some Ebay sellers provide good images.
