Re: Uploading facility of Card images
Thank you Michael for outlining the site policy. i wonder whether more interesting topic activity would be stimulated and enjoyed with the inclusion of direct illustration material under control Brian I'm sure it would... but for various reasons we can't allow direct upload of pictures (as attachme...

Re: Uploading facility of Card images
You can already link images into your post, but they need to be hosted elsewhere, on one of the online image hosting sites such as Photobucket or on your own website. You then put the full url of the uploaded in your post using the [img] button. This was discussed a while ago: http://www.postcard.co...

Re: Removed Posts (from Postcard Wants)
Just to clarify the situation here. The usage policy for the board clearly states " Links to websites or pages offering sales of items are not allowed.." http://www.postcard.co.uk/messages/postcard/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=621 If we allowed this to happen the board would just become floode...

Re: Removed Posts (from Postcard Wants)

The ebay listing is nothing to do with me i just had a quick look on there FOR him and found it. So please leave it for him to see. You are forgetting your other delete...

Re: Perforations
We find they tend to get 'overlooked' in stock, even though they have interesting cards in them. So we're often tempted to split them - which as Kevin says was the original intention.

five hours later... we've upgraded to the new PHPBB3. Hope everybody likes the new features. The old board seems to have transferred over ok but there were a few glitches. Please let me know by PM if you discover any problems. Thanks. Mike

The 'Memberlist' now only lists those who've actually posted. It's yet another measure to prevent bogus registrations (or at least hide them from view). The actual number of 'users' is at 369 at the moment but we are overdue a cull of the spambot ones which should reduce this down to the 200 (ish) ...

I noted that they advertised in last years' BIPEX catalogue. Would it be an idea, since they are specialist insurers, to have a permanent link to their website somewhere on this website - subject to their agreement of course (although, I can't see them not agreeing, since it gives them more free ad...

I havent made a large contribution to 'chat' since joining - but do come on and cannot join in with debate, as yet - as I am still planning the post card side of my business. Members on here have given me some good links to publishers and I am grateful for that. I think this forum is run very well,...

No most real photo cards do no have 'This is a Real Photo' on them. In fact the better ones don't... There are basically two types of real photo, those produced directly from an original negative usually by a local photographer often in small quantities and 'photomechanical' types.... Larger compani...

Re: £122 for a 1910 military Wiltshire card
Blimey. Just finished bidding for three postcards showing the South Midland Division arriving at and marching from Ludgershall Station in Wiltshire in 1910. I won two of the cards at "dealer prices", but the third went for a whopping £122, with someone else willing to go up to £120. It ...

Re: £122 for a 1910 military Wiltshire card
I thought I would add something new to this slightly sluggish Forum! Moonraker Could that really be because Mike has moved the link to the forum lower down the PTA homepage ........ ? The links still in the same place in the index (next to top) but we had to put the poster ad for next years BIPEX i...
