Re: Inherited large collection and need some suggestions.

A list of North American postcard dealers appears at:

http://www.postcard.co.uk/dealers_north_america.php

Some may be interested in purchasing this collection (though as this is a UK based site there aren't many on the list)

Re: York

I'm hoping to get to York next saturday. Can anybody tell me what it's like for dealers, parking etc. Hopefully I'll get a better response than for the Penkridge Fair? List of dealers is at: http://www.rfpostcards.com/york/dealers.htm Parking is fine - being a racecourse they are geared up to cater...

Re: Selling my collection

I have a reasonable postcard collection that I am preparing to auction. I naturally wish to create attractive lots and wonder what the best route is. Do I collate in groups such as transport, churches, castles, animals and so on or do I go down the regional route and put all Suffolk churches in Suf...

Re: Closure of many Post Offices

Though there is some rural poverty of course, I'm not happy with the concept of village Post Offices being kept open at the expense of the rest of the network just so that the stockbroker can pop out of his weekend cottage for a 1st class stamp on a Saturday morning.

Re: Major changes on Ebay

and now the latest is you MUST offer Paypal..... At the level that most postcards sell for (£2-5) whats the point, by the time we pay ebay and paypal we might as well just empty our wallets into the ebay coffers. We no longer sell with them Really???? I find that the overall cost of selling on eBay...

Re: Comic Postcards

How ridiculous that my post was removed. Im just showing the person in the thread an ebay listing so he can expand his collection. The ebay listing is nothing to do with me i just had a quick look on there FOR him and found it. So please leave it for him to see. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...

Re: Perforations

At the weekend I came across a booklet of views for Gibraltar I'd bought in an auction job lot, some of the cards were missing from the book presumably having been torn out and posted. What are these tear out cards (ciraca 1920?) worth when compared to normal views without the perforated edge? Is i...

Re: March PPM

Picked up a copy of Postcard Monthly at the weekend. Having not taken it for a while I was quite surprised and think it's improved alot since I last had a copy. I was particularly interested in the articles on Lampeter and Liverpool both of which have connections for me. A shame we can't get at the...

five hours later... we've upgraded to the new PHPBB3. Hope everybody likes the new features. The old board seems to have transferred over ok but there were a few glitches. Please let me know by PM if you discover any problems. Thanks. Mike Thanks for the explanation Mike - and the upgrade.

The 'Memberlist' now only lists those who've actually posted. It's yet another measure to prevent bogus registrations (or at least hide them from view). The actual number of 'users' is at 369 at the moment but we are overdue a cull of the spambot ones which should reduce this down to the 200 (ish) ...

This morning I tumbled out of bed to sign for a "Special Delivery" PC that had cost me £35; the vendor had charged me £1 for p & p, but still sent it by a service costing £4.30. (I would have thought Recorded Delivery would have done, but still.) Occasionally as an eBay vendor I al...

I suspect that will be tough one - often less is known about the cards of that era than about Edwardian ones.

Is this the chappie in question?
