Regarding Copyright - UK Members may be interested in this Wiki page - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright ... _copyright.
There are exceptions (take the Peter Pan case as one) where perpetuity of copyright is kept, but as a "general rule" (but not rock solid), 70 years after the authors death or 70 years after first published if date of death is not known. Also, if the originator, or his/her benefactors are provided the material for commercial gain, the time period still remains with the originator.
Its a very muddy area!

Replies to two person who posted in the past.

J Arthur Dixon floral postcards were mainly done by J Arthur Dixon himself from flowers in his garden at Shanklin, he died 1958 also their was a number of other photographers, sadly these have passed away also. [Ex J Arthur Dixon historian]

The second item was about publishers of postcards long since gone out of business - see book "Pictire Postcards and their Publidhers" by Anthony Byatt. Published by Golden Age Postcards Books of Malvern 1978. Regret the more Modern publishers are not covered, time for another update!!
