I'm sure there are for this popular comic artist - especially his 'Gran Pop' series; I checked in the current Picture Postcard Annual and there were articles on Lawson Wood in the March 1992 and December 1995 editions of Picture Postcard Monthly - these may still be available - don't know of any listings anywhere.

I have many old copies of PPM in the loft, I'll find time to dig them out and let you know............ may be while!

Hi!

I will be posting separately about my project to create an index for World War One era (1914-18) cards published by Inter-Art. This spans around 3,000 different postcards up to around 1919 (early post-war).

One of the artists who published during these years for Inter-Art was Lawson Wood. I've added the examples I've discovered to my index, but naturally there may still be more to discover as the project is still ongoing.

He would have done work for other publishers as well, but my cataloguing project is limited to Inter-Art.

I'll take a look to find the examples and list the numbers when I have a chance.

These are the numbers marked on the back for the Lawson Wood cards published through Inter-Art during the first World War. All are in the series "Artistique". From the pattern that seems to play out (at least from the cards I've found), he produced sets of six for Inter-Art. As my cataloguing is a work in progress, I still have to find more cards, so I don't have examples for some numbers I feel are by Wood. I am covering the Inter-Art numbers from 0 - 3000, so there still may be even more sets of six within this range that I have yet to discover. - Marika
