Hello,
I collect early Irish postcards and have recently picked up a couple marked F.F & Co. I had initially thought they were from the Francis Frith company but I wonder are they in fact from F.Frankel & Co.? Can anybody please give me a definitive answer?
Francis Frith or F. Frankel & Co.

This is the logo that appears on some F.F.& Co. cards - is this a clue?

This is the familiar Star series logo of Gottschalk, Dreyfus & Davis who started in 1904. Frankel & Co Ltd also issued cards with the Star logo and the suggestion is that they were imported by F Frankel & Co. In 1914 Dreyfus dropped out and the firm became Gottschalk & Davis; Alfred Davis was the artist.CollectIreland wrote:

I would therefore conclude that the postcards you have are from F Frankel & Co between 1904 and 1914.
Best luck with the collection.

Thanks for the information and I'm certain that you're correct. I was led astray through a purchase that was sold as Francis Frith but was by Frankel.
