How to call these postcards

Post by Thelma »

Hello all,

Sample of the postcard: http://www.merrytheschristmascollection ... tcard.html

Is the description "pull-out" postcards the correct name? Or is there another ?
In Dutch I would call them "uittrekkaarten", but I do not know if this correct either.

Thank you for your help and advice.

Gosh, that looks really elaborate! Is it an actual postcard or a greetings card, I wonder?

In English 'Pull-out' is deemed the generic term to describe Postcards that have part of the picture open up via a flap and you then pull out the views that are inside in a concertina fashion... the illustration you show seems to suggest the picture 'opens out'

Hope it helps!

eastlondonpostcard,

Thanks for your reply. I googled "Pull-out" and indeed, some cards came up.

Indeed, it is not a postcard, but a greeting card, as you suggest.

Keep well, Thelma
