Auguste Renoir "The Umbrellas" Postcard

Post by postcard joanne »

Hello all

I have a postcard of Auguste Renoir "The Umbrellas" and when i was looking on ebay all of the ones on there were all facing to the left side and my one is facing to the right i havent found any others the same as mine which is facing the opposite way, does anyone know why? is this rare?
On mine the lady with the basket is on the right with the small girl on her left.
Hope someone can help me.
Many thanks
Joanne

This wonderful painting can be seen at the National Gallery in London - where postcards/prints of it can be purchased as well.

I have seen these on offer on eBid too - all looking correctly to the left.

I would suggest that your postcard is a merely a misprint; the printer/publisher unaware that they have made an error...
