CLIVE SMITH
It is with deep regret that we have to announce that Clive Smith died suddenly last Saturday during a short stay in hospital.
Clive was one of the founder members of the PTA, being one of those who looked to the future of postcards, with the need for promotion, and standards of trading.
In the early days of the 1970’s along with John Smith and others he promoted and traded at the London Postcard Centre in Kensington Church Street, which became the Saturday choice for postcard collectors. In 1977 he and John started the popular Bloomsbury Postcard Fair at the Bloomsbury Crest Hotel.
Clive opened his shop in Hendon in 1981, and has produced some 15 books on Postcards, his first being on Hendon.
Clive’s funeral will take place at 11.30am on Tuesday 30th January at the Golders Green crematorium, and all are welcome. His Family have requested no flowers, but for anyone wishing to make a donation to charity, one will be nominated shortly.
Clive will be sadly missed by his wife Valerie, his children Dave, Phil and Julie, his family and friends.
