press release for PPM newsdesk

Post by lizMckendrick »

The final PTA Committee meeting before the Picture Postcard Show was held recently in London with nine of the members present.

As expected most of the meeting was taken up with discussing the final arrangements for the show with Dave Davis (Exhibition Organiser) reporting that, despite the change in dates, there will be the same number of dealers present as last year although there will be several new faces and several old favourites returning.

Advertising for the Show is also in full swing with posters and leaflets being widely distributed to e bay customers as well as the normal fairs and postcard shops. There are general articles on postcards highlighting the Picture Postcard Show being sent to the national press with the hope that they will get published in one or two of the Weekend newspapers.

Entries for the Club Competition are on target with 22 confirmed with another 8 expected. There will also be an area set aside in the Hall this year for local clubs to display their details.
A reminder also to club secretaries that they can apply for free tickets for the Show (to be redeemed from Thursday onwards) to Dave Davis.

The launch of the new PTA website is on target to coincide with the Show, complete with an entirely new format for the message board and many other new or revised features.

The AGM of the PTA will be held as usual on Friday October 13th at 9am (don’t be put off by the date!) at the Royal Horticultural Halls and we strongly recommend PTA members to attend as this is the one time in the year for your input.
