Warwick Castle - postcard book

Post by Carpitt »

I am hoping someone can answer my queries

I have inherited a souvenir book from Warwick castle. It has 12, 14x9cm "paintings" of various scenes of Warwick Castle. They look like the sort of postcard souvenir books you get nowadays but they seem to be in the style of WW Quartermain (nothing is signed & I cannot find any of his recorded pictures with quite the same view. )

They do not seem to be on what I would call normal postcard paper. They feel like they are almost painted on a very thin slate but I know that would be impossible. They date from after 1918 as the book was printed by J Salmon at Sevenoaks.

Anyone has any ideas of what they are?
