Re: WW1 postcards Salonika

Celia Postcards of war-torn Thessaloniki (or Salonique) are not particularly rare although they are certainly very collectable. It does surprise me that they are not worth more but a lot were produced so many of these cards sell on ebay for just a couple of pounds. Some particularly interesting and ...

Mirrored Postcard

I bought a 1920s postcard recently of a scene that I know well. I thought that there was something odd about it and realised that it is actually a mirror image of the real view. The things that should be on the left are on the right and vice-versa. Does anyone know whether this happened often with o...

Re: Best Place to Buy Modern Postcards

Have you tired http://www.delcampe.com ? I have bought several interesting modern (1970s) cards lately and the prices were more resonable than on ebay.

Re: Postcard

Divided back postcards were not allowed in the US until March 1, 1907. Prior to that only the address was written on the back and any message had to be on the front.

Displaying Postcards

Further to my earlier post on creating an exhibition of vintage postcards, does anyone have any tipe for how to display them without damaging them?

Thanks again for your help

Re: £122 for a 1910 military Wiltshire card

I think that the truth is that ebay is addictive and it is all too easy to get carried away.

Postcard Copyright

Does anyone know what the copyright laws are for old postcards? I have two projects in mind: 1. Exhibition in my village of cards from 1900 to 2000 showing how it has developed and changes - would like to scan and blow up some of the images so that they can be seen more clearly 2. Booklet to go with...

Greece

I am looking for cards from Greece particularly the Thessaly region (e.g. Larissa, Volos, Skiathos, Skopelos). Would be happy to hear from anyone who has any of these for sale.
Thanks

Re: Inherited large collection and need some suggestions.

Wow - what a collection. And such variety - no wonder you don't know where to start. A dime a card sounds pretty cheap to me but it depends on whether you have the time to sort them and sell them individually. The value depends on so many factors. Do you have any Greek ones in there at all?
