Re: London NW series with no publisher but numbered, any info?

Not sure it's them but the only "Bell's" publisher that comes to mind is the "BELLS PHOTOGRAPHIC Co. Ltd. from Essex" often referred to as "Bell's Photo Co Ltd". While Essex based (Westcliffe on sea?) their output covered a wide geographic area. You'll find quite a lot ...

Re: R P Phillimore biblography

Or perhaps
"Checklist of postcards by R.P. Phillimore.
Published 1970 by Joan Humphreys"

I've not located a source for this list but the title is on a couple of web indexes. It looks to be a self published title, the author/publisher location is given as Rochdale.

Another possibility

Re: Wall display frame or case sought

You mention covering a wall, so I'm assuming that it's quite a lot of postcards. Displaying the cards themselves can be problematic as they may fade or otherwise suffer from constant exposure. I've seen groups of cards framed for wall display and they suffered. Most museum displays seem to be used f...

Re: R P Phillimore biblography

Hello Martin,

Do you remember the name of the postcard magazine back issues you purchased? It might help identify where you obtained the Phillimore bibliography. The ones that come to mind are "Picture Postcard Monthly" and “The Postcard Album” (TPA), there are probably others.

Re: R P Phillimore biblography

It might not be the one you are seeking but a Google search turns up a publication by Greenfriar P, published in May 1985, 60 pages, etc.

You can find copies on the Amazon website by searching for R P Phillimore.

Hope this helps

Re: A.F.D. Bannister

I've not seen a catalogue but three possible sources come to mind. 1. The Aviation Postcard Club. They have an archived article which features Bannister aviation postcards published by Salmon and includes an email address of a club member offering a full list. The archived page is at http://www.avia...

Re: Date & 'Understanding' a Bamforth Card please.

Yes, it's a British scene(right hand drive vehicles, Colmans Mustard ad, etc). It's a 1914-1918 WW1 postcard and it refers to the food Shortages in Britain at that time, there were many other comic postcards on the same theme. I've a copy that was posted in 1915. Bamforth produced a considerable num...

Re: Queen Victoria Jubilee 1837-1897

I hate being the bearer of bad news, but...... I've seen the card before, same images and design but in colour. With the damage from stamp removal I'm afraid it's unlikely to raise anything like the value that has been suggested to you. There is a Danish postcard dealer on the Delcampe website who h...

To add images to messages you first need to upload them to an image hosting site ( photobucket.com, picasa.com, and there are others). Once uploaded to a picture hosting site you can add a link to the image in your message by clicking on the'URL' tag above the message box when you enter your message...

Re: Queen Victoria Jubilee 1837-1897

Without the stamp much will depend on the card itself and it's condition. With the postage stamp and if it were posted on or around the Jubilee date then a price upwards from £100 might be possible at a stretch . Without the stamp the value will be significantly lower. If you have an image of the po...

Re: Post Office not honouring recorded delivery

Hello Fran, It's rotten but, if you are operating as a business (buying to sell) then the Royal Mail will always try to limit their exposure to the sellers purchase price of the item. They will argue that your loss is your cost price plus fees and stamp cost. I have heard of sellers succeeding with ...
