Re: Post Office picture card series 1980s
There really does not seem to be any interest in these sort of cards. I am offering 97 cards for £1.50 plus £5 postage (with refund of any difference in the buyer's favour), no watchers or anything and there's about an hour left after seven days on the site..

Re: Post Office picture card series 1980s
I am virtually "giving away" 97 of these cards in advert on ebay. Set there for seven days, with just a couple of hours to run as at the time of this Post there's no interest at all. The same items ran before that for seven days with no interest. PM me for the Link if anyone is interested

Re: Post Office picture card series 1980s
PHQ as collectors items would appear to be of no value. I have just been on ebay and trawled through pages of listings for them - all at extremely low price offers. And I have also seen pages of no response to those on sale. The best once can say, perhaps, is that "they look nice." But it...

Re: Post Office picture card series 1980s
Your cards are known as PHQ postcards, issued from 1973 onwards and depicting the design of a commemorative Royal Mail stamp that was issued at much the same time. The PHQ stands for Postal Headquarters. If you run an internet search for PHQ you will find examples and prevailing prices. There's a W...

Post Office picture card series 1980s
Is there a possible valuation on these cards - I have discovered 97 of them? They were (c) Post Office Picture Cards Series - probably circa 1984 period. The cards depict postal themes, like issued stamps. as well as depictions of mail deliveries made by mail coach and similar methods. The majority ...

Re: Help! Postcard sizes and definitions
Information about the Bloomsbury Fair is here: http://www.memoriespostcards.co.uk/index27a.htm - there is a regular Modern dealer: Mike Huddy - however, I believe he will not be at the October event - best to contact the organiser before visiting I really appreciate this response. I will attempt to...

Re: Help! Postcard sizes and definitions
Is it worth me visiting this Sunday's (September 23) Postcard Collectors Fair, London Royal National Hotel, Russell Square, WC1, hoping to get a deal in regard to my MODERN POSTCARDS? Any advice appreciated. How much is a the admission charge for visitors? I could go there just to browse anyway. Wh...

Re: Set of [French] War Propaganda Postcards - CROISSANT (1914)
According to wikipedia the definition of croissant is::::
A croissant (/krəˈsɑːnt/ or /kwɑːˈsɒn/; French pronunciation: [kʁwa.sɑ̃] ( listen)) is a buttery flaky viennoiserie bread roll named for its distinctive crescent shape.
I wonder what part croissants played in France's 1914-18 war effort?

Re: Help! Postcard sizes and definitions
By the sound of it, it's not so much the wrong size - it's just that they are too modern for most dealers who prefer trading Postcards of the 'Golden Age' - the Edwardian period. I believe collectors of modern 'larger format' postcards seem to prefer subjects/themes - postcards of the 1980s period ...

Re: delcampe
I went on delcampe just to check Spain postcards and it looks as though many on offer from there are just the normal postcards one can buy in most hotel foyers and local shops. Is delcampe worth joining to advertise a bulk collection of MODERN postcards I wonder or would I be better using (with all ...

Help! Postcard sizes and definitions
I have a collection of 500-plus postcards that I have been trying to sell to dealers. While they are set into various categories (about 40 of them) i.e country, trains, art, religion, etc, they have not been sold mainly for these reasons: (!) Many of them are the wrong size being what are termed &quo...
