The new PPM starts in December!!!

Picture Postcard Magic PPM is back! (but not as you knew it) Following the demise of the magazine Picture Postcard Collecting, the successor to Picture Postcard Monthly, we’re re-introducing PPM from December 2023 with a publication titled Picture Postcard Magic, with the aim of keeping a magazine ...

nottingham postcard fair

Next Nottingham Postcard Fair is SUPER TUESDAY 13 MARCH 10am - 4pm. This is a kind of replacement for our 5 Feb event, postponed because of snow. It's a first-ever all day event on a weekday at Nottingham, so come along and sample the craic! Venue is Harvey Hadden Sports Centre, Bilborough, Nottingh...

Re: Ebay or fairs? The choice is yours.

I disagree with Tony about fair attendances - York had an improved attendance from 2007, as did Nottingham in February, and Cheltenham has certainly revived under its new management. As for eBay v. fairs, surely these are just two different buying/selling opportunities with separate dimensions. At a...

Re: Southwold & Reg Carter

Marianne - you could do no better than read the relevant articles in Picture Postcard Monthly - June 2004 on Reg Carter, Nov 1990 on Southwold and June 2007 on the Southwold Railway. Back numbers available at http://www.postcardcollecting.co.uk

sending postcards 2008

We're all interested in collecting picture postcards (normally old ones) but what are we all doing to boost the current health of them? How often do you actually send a postcard? How often do you buy a postcard from a card rack in a shop? Are modern cards worth collecting? Are there any decent ones ...

Re: BIPEX 2008

My take on the Picture Postcard Show (Bipex) 2008 is this: The event is intended to be a showpiece for the postcard collecting hobby in the UK, one that provides an exciting source of new cards for experienced collectors and a fascinating and impressive introduction for interested visitors. It may n...

I can do better than that - train collision at East Croydon 10 July 1909. Photographic postcard by Bender of Croydon posted 8.30 pm at South Norwood same day: "THis is a picture of the smash I referred to this morning".

Younger dealers? They certainly exist - quite a few in their 30s and 40s, which must qualify for young in the PC hobby. There was a 10-year old dealer at a fair in Scotland last year (independent of her parents) and Nottm PC Fair regularly has a 15-year-old dealer. As for the age of collectors, ther...
