Re: Postcard Producers

Good luck with the venture - by the way, I was in Thatcham on Wednesday - a lovely place! Forgot to say, nice to know someone has heard of us! Do you have much to do with Thatcham? Not a lot - I was collecting a Rover P5b from an Austin Westminster restorer! - Thatcham is well known for 'Westie' re...

Re: Postcard Producers

Hello Nick - same answer to a similar thread - check out the Local History library for what seems to be local publishers. If you have dates for these, it helps. A lot of it will be best endeavours and if you add the disclaimer, you are on the right track, I believe. Raphael Tuck were foremost innova...

Re: Copyright and postcards advice please

Good progress Sue - they are a nice crowd - enjoy the evening. If the cards were locally produced, there may be records about the company in the Local History Library. Re: Copyright and postcards advice please

Copyright on Picture Postcards is never straight forward! - best guidance for the UK can be found here: http://www.ipo.gov.uk/types/copy.htm And if, after trying to locate a publisher/artist fails to uncover copyright, then a disclaimer in the publication is an alternative if you are determined to u...

Re: Newbie

Welcome The coloured views - are they artist drawn? - is there a name or a publisher's name on the back, I wonder? - may help to know. The one with a lift up flap is probably worth 2-3 pounds - there are collectors for this type of view card as a novelty. The Campania was the Festival of Britain shi...
