I was only there the second, third and fourth days last year, and it was indeed pleasant to be able to get to stalls without difficulty. I intend to be there all three days this year, provided that I don't overspend early on. If it is crowded, then the likelihood is I'll spend less, as it will be ha...

BIPEX 2007

I see from the Postcard Fair information that BIPEX 2007 is only running for three days this year (30th August - 1st September) instead of the expected 4 days. Could someone confirm that this is correct, as it has previously been held over 4 days, and I would hate to miss out on a day. Many thanks A...

DOH. I never thought to check and see if I have any messages. This must be my first.

Apologies. I'll respond.
Thanks

One can always write opinions about certain postcard fairs, although comments about specific dealers may not go down too well if they are negative ones. I prefer to talk (type) about my specific area of interest. I know much about castles, but probably very little about the actual postcards and thei...

Not sure whether my wife's patience would stand up to that. It's not just postcards I collect, but also old prints, old photos and books on British castles. As a contrast, I try and collect modern pictures of the castles too, as a comparison. When I really can't find anything new, there's always oth...

I collect postcards of British castles, and there always seems to be a good number of them available on e-Bay (currently got a set of three for £1.99 + P&P). I don't think many people buy these, which is reflected in the prices - and the fact that so many of them are listed time and again. My co...

[quote]eBay has been a godsend to the postcard trade since it first began to make an impact around 1998, not just for those who sell on it, but for all dealers in creating an international market for postcards, including some types which were nigh on impossible to shift previously. Postcard Fairs be...

I rather like this idea, although as Kevin says, it would be highly tedious and time consuming. When I buy old postcards, I tend to be interested in the picture, but my wife likes to read to reverse side - a bit of social history. If Baldlygo would like to start something like this, I would willingl...

E. A. Sweetman & Sons

I'm searching for some information regarding the publishers E.A. Sweetman & Sons Ltd of Tunbridge Wells. I would like to know whether they are still in business, and if not, when they went out of business.

Many thanks

I have some of the Peacock Series postcards in my collection, and all those that are postmarked are from between 1900 and 1910.
