Re: Valentine and Wrench
I don't believe that the two companies Wrench and Valentine worked together. It is more likely that they may have both been approached by the original photographer to publish the image. Or that one company sold on the image to the other. Both these scenarios were commonplace at the time... major pub...

Re: Copies of Postcards
Yes, there was another thread which was moved out of the public eye while the wording is analyzed for possible libel.
Apologies to the contributors concerned.
It appears post card 'copyright' has once again become a very contentious & sensitive issue.

Re: Miniature Novels Series Christmas lonely heart card
Nice - the ones I have seen have also been in black and white & appear to have a serrated edge as though they have come from a booklet.... no idea who the publisher is. I believe they are quite common post cards. Many post cards sometime reveal some interesting messages; it's always worth lookin...

Arthur Frederick Sergeant began the firm Lilywhite Ltd c.1909 - and between the war years the firm produced many real photographic view, the numbers prefixed with ...

Re: Wiltshire publishers: Bott, Fred Wright, Fred West
I have details of some Wiltshire postcard publishers of the 1910s, including T L Fuller, Alfred Vowles and Albert Marrett of Shrewton, but there are several other, less prolific, ones about whom I'm a little curious: Little is known about Albert Marrett’s local rival, Fred West. A R Bott of Orchest...

Re: To eBay or not to eBay?
A postcard of Stonehenge has just sold for £52 on eBay! As an iconic national monument it has featured in many, many PCs, and rather too often modern colour cards are listed on eBay. But this one featured Stonehenge just before the First World War, with two soldiers in a dog-cart riding eastward up...
