Re: ebay shop

What are the advantages of opening an ebay shop? I'm currently selling buy it now items on ebay. I spend quite a lot on fees so was just wondering whether it would be cheaper to open an ebay shop instead. Can anyone tell me what the financial advantages of opening an ebay shop are? I haven't sold o...

Re: Sending Postcards through the post ...

Bit of a basic one, I know - but I'm new to this hobby so please forgive me! I would be really grateful if anyone could offer me advice on the following: 1. What's the best way to send postcards safely through the post - those flimsy half-board enveloped don't really look up to it (tips on any reas...

George Studdy Bonzo Dog Valentine's Proofs ?

I have what appear to be 7 x Valentine's proofs or reference cards as they carry the same number as on the finished colour postcards produced by Valentine's. These are in black and white and are plain backed cards. I have been in contact with a Bonzo website and Richard who runs that site also thin...

Re: To eBay or not to eBay?

I use http://www.delcampe.net/ to sell my postcards, and have also been invited to sell on http://www.bidstart.com/. Wouldn't trust eBay as far as I could throw them now - for both buying and selling. The site is so very different from when I first joined in 2002. And agree regarding eBid - great p...

Re: Happithought and Arcadian Series

Think I may have tracked them down............. Firstly here is an image of the Southampton one I mentioned previously and I can confirm the postal date as 1916. http://i1018.photobucket.com/albums/af307/deanosaur1972/arcardian.jpg http://i1018.photobucket.com/albums/af307/deanosaur1972/arcardianBA...

Re: CTH Charles T. Howard ( Salmon of Seven Oaks)

Hi all, I am interested in collecting Charles T. Howard Postcards or CTH, an artist whom I believe worked for Salmon of Seven Oaks and a couple of other postcard publishers. I am a rank beginner and currently have 1 postcard of his, which I bought on ebay a couple of days ago. Can anyone tell me wh...

Re: ANother unidentified publisher

Hi Nick That coding on the card could be a printers code... If that was the case... Whatever symbol is inside the diamond is the printers logo - the next number would be a negative number representing the image and the last number (in this case 1927) would be the code of the publisher they were prin...

Re: German postcard printers

Hello "Bediene Dich selbst" That postcard would I believe have come from an automatic dispensing machine - hence the translation "help yourself" or "serve yourself". So the name would be on the machine as well as on the postcards. Not sure of the background of the compa...

Re: FIFA WORLD CUP FOOTBAL TOURNAMENT

Hello Not sure if its just the main tournaments that you want. The only one I have at present is a limited edition postcard (number 27 of 500 published) from one of the qualifiers in 1993 when England went out after being beaten by Holland. http://i1018.photobucket.com/albums/af307/deanosaur1972/HL5...

Re: A question

Nothing that you probably don't already know, but as nobody has replied..... I have seen several for sale that have those stickers displayed on the back - if you put the German translation into google you will probably come up with a few. Almost certainly this group would have started in Berlin and ...
