Re: Coronavirus and fairs
Sad to report that the Festival of Cards at Shepton Mallet due 27th and 28th March has been cancelled due to the current outbreak.
Wishing Barrie and daughter Katie all the best for the future as this was to be their last event there.

Re: The Ward Gallery, London
As I understand it, this was the Ward Gallery Bookshop during the fashionable Kings Road Chelsea days... I think they lasted until the mid-1970s.
I don't know much about their output unfortunately. Were they numbered postcards, I wonder?

I believe they are cancelling events in the Netherlands as we speak, but the UK Fairs lined up for tomorrow are still going ahead... If you feel vulnerable, then it is best to stay away. Re: Which is the Front, and which is the Back?
A good question! Again no easy answer as opinion will vary... is it simply down to whether you regard the 'picture' side of the Post Card or the address/message side as more relevant or important... however, I believe that most people would regard the 'picture' side of the card as the front and the ...

Re: Postcard 'Eras' in the UK? Dating cards
In the UK the postcard scene emerged in a slightly different way ... a potted history can be found here: http://postcard.co.uk/history.php Early, Court and Undivided-back postcards were produced up to 1902. After that date regulations allowed a 'divided' back postcard to be sent in the post, and fro...

Re: obliterated postcard message
Sorry, I didn't add pic, I find I can't do on this website (its easy on Delcampe!) somebody did tell me how onetime but I've forgotten! (Also advancing years are an excuse!) No worries - here is a thread which tells you how to post a picture: http://postcard.co.uk/messages/postcard/viewtopic.php?f=...

Also it appears there has been surfing at Muizenberg since 1910 - check out this link: http://muizenberg.info/history/muizenbe ... uth-africa where it tells the whole story... certainly puts this postcard in the pre-1st world war period in my opinion.

Re: Charles Allan Gilbert
You have a collectable theme which is quite common on a postcard, and collected by many also. Not a particularly valuable postcard in my opinion.
