Re: Postcard copyright issues
On a general note, am I being too simplistic in thinking the copyright of "Golden Age" cards has long expired? Anyway the images on cards were meant to be seen. Did those photographers a 100 years ago ask permission to take the pics? Incidentally I was stopped from photographing a/ the fun...

Wrench London Checklist?
Wrench's were'nt in business long 1900 to 1906, quite a variety of cards but I am interested in the London colour mostly streets cards, some of the more unusual streets not just the more normal tourist spots I think possibly I'm interested in numbers from about 11346 Regent Circus to 11380 King Will...

Re: Marathon
It was the George-Commercial Inn in Uxbridge, the 1908 Olympic Marathon passed thru here but this is obvously not it! Perhaps you could copy the card to Uxbridge Local History Society or Archives at Hillingdon, it's nearly 20 years since I left there.

Re: Clyno Cars/ Motorcycles / Machine gun outfits
no postcard but many years ago a friend of my bro was clearing an old breakers yard near the M1, my bro asked my advice on how we could make some money and we found the remains of a Clyno car and I said that should be good for spares, we advertised the bits, no takers, Clynos were so badly made that...

Re: searching for equestrian statues
you could look out for: Duke of Wellington, there are statues outside his house, Apsley House at Hyde Park Corner (these are all London unless otherwise stated) also there is the Quadrigga there, if that counts, a 4 horse victory chariot, (I think there's something similar in Paris, it's not unusual...

universal mail private stamps for overseas postcards
Have you seen these stamps, may be available from big tourists sites or e bay (search "universal mail")? I got a strip of the South West ones and found the matching cards, I've been mailing to pals overseas to get them to return to me, in the hope that the PO would not know what they were ...
