Help! Bamforth Postcards Hymns/Songs & Black/White Photo

Post by clairehaskett »

Hi Everybody

Im here to pick your brains and ask for help. I have recently acquired 2 collectors folders full of Bamforth Postcards, mostly from the Hymns and Songs ranges and some are written/postmarked on the back between 1910 - 1918. Also there are quite a few Black & White Photo Song Postcards too. I havent really got a clue about these, I have a book with them all about Bamforth collections and listing the numbers/titles/sets etc so Ive figured which ones are complete sets etc. I also have a Christies Auction Book dated 1994 which is a programme for the auction they held selling all the Bamforth Saucy Seaside Postcards. I really dont want these are I have no interest in them and havent got a clue where to start to try and sell them to a collector who could find some of them useful. Any ideas how I can start, to be honest Im not really an Ebay fan so would rather be able to visit a dealer or something..... HELP Please. Im from Barnsley, South Yorkshire so if anyone could point me in the right direction, I would be ever so grateful. Many Thanks in advance.

I'll list a few here, just so you get the jist of the type of cards they are:

4929 - Boys in Khaki, Boys In Blue ( Full set of 3) UNUSED/Empty Backs

4695 - Don't go down the mine Dad (Full set of 4) UNUSED/Empty Backs

4500 - Ora Pro Nobis (Full set of 4) Written on backs but no stamps or postmarks

4651 - You Taught Me How To Love You (Full set of 3) no.2 & 3 stamped/postmarked 1912

And so on..... the list is pretty large, lots of singular as well as un finished sets as well as many full sets.

Just joined and seen your post from May and wondered whether you are still interested in selling the postcards? I work in Sheffield, so i'm not too far away and would it be possible to view?
