Ships - the Ellora

I have a moody old photo stuck to a post card of the launch of the Ellora. I understand the ship was built over a hundred years ago, and it sank during WW2.

Obviously it's a bit rare. Question is - what forum do I use to make sure the postcard reaches the right collector?

I have found on the web that there was an Ellora built in 1911 on the Clyde for the British India Steam Navigation - it was scrapped and broken up in India in 1938 - is this the same one, I wonder? - it was a hospital ship during the 1st world war, so could have appeal to family members/researchers of this period/subject.

So you think it might be rare - I use rarity with caution myself - hmmmm - but getting the card to the right person is always a tough one, I'm sure someone out there would love a picture of this ship - and you may get a response from this forum.

Harold Jordan specialises in shipping postcards and is very knowledgeable in this vast subject and can be contacted via his website: http://www.hjcards.co.uk - alternatively check out the PTA site for dealers/fairs in your area for an opinion -

or you you could try using the many on-line auction sites out there on the www.

Hope it helps and good luck

Thank you very much. I only aquired my box of postcards by accident, so am terribly green about collecting. Your advice is much appreciated. I will follow through with the contact you gave me. Cheers...
