I have "inherited" a postcard collection - 12 boxes of unsorted cards.
9 Boxes are around small shoe-box size (5"x12"x4" ish), and the other 3 boxes are each about 3 times that size.
So, I estimate several thousand cards in total - somewhere between 5000 and 8000 maybe?
There are too many for a non-collector (myself!) to sort through, but having a quick look there are lots of 80s/90s, some earlier, some later - and definitely some duplicated cards. The vast majority are unwritten (found 3 with writing), and in mostly in very good condition.
These have been kept in dry but dusty storage before I got them.
I'm after some advice -- I don't know how best to sell them - separate each box, or just (for ease) as a collection - i.e. one 'lot'.
I'm based in Kennington, near the Oval in Central London.
Any advice? (or offers!)
Best regards
Stuart

Re: Postcard Collection for Sale
Stuart - they sound like 'Modern' postcards if they are from the 80s/90s - are they subject-types (as opposed to views)mostly? - since you are based in London it would be best to get to the Bloomsbury Postcard Fair this Sunday - at the Royal National Hotel in Bedford Street WC1 - there will be many dealers who can advise and make an offer - including Mike Huddy who specialises in Modern postcards........ either take them along ( - there are no parking or congestion restrictions nearby on Sundays if you go by car) or a good sample .....
If not able to go, PM me and I would be interested to arrange a viewing sometime .......
