Moustache Postcards

Post by eastlondonpostcard »

I have a new collecting theme: moustaches on Postcard - especially the type a strongman wore; the handlebar.

The German Emperor for one sported a great one before the 1st world war! - and Jimmy Edwards! - well!! - a proud member of the handlebar club!

That could well be a fascinating collection.

This young gentleman looks like he training his handlebar moustache, very wispy on the ends but it coming along....

Probably can't class this one as a handlebar....? No upturned ends

And the one that just looks really odd to me........

Those two are fantastic! I particularly like the one on the right.

Stamp collection is my hobby from my school days itself and I do have a good collection of variety of stamps with me, but in this whole bunch I have never seen a mustache on Postcard. I am sure this would be a fascinating collection for you. After reading your post I am inspired to categorize my collection and see how it looks.

Thanks for your input - yes, it is an unusual collection. I have not seen moustaches on stamps as a theme, however - something to consider.
