Academic interest in postcards 2 - John Hinde

This time I'd like to pick your brains on the John Hinde Studio cards, in particular those of Ireland in the 1960s/70s. Can anyone tell me anything about these cards? They seem to major on redheaded children in rural backwaters - do you think that this is a representative view of Ireland back then (I'm especially interested to hear from you if you are Irish)
