Hi everyone just wondered how everyone stored their cards and how best to protect them? I'm going to specialise in ww1 postcards so if anyone knows the best places to find them then please let me know.

In a "pocket album" from a reputable manufacturer and/or dealer.

"WWI postcards" covers a very wide range of topics, and you could spend several hundred pounds at a postcard fair, where nearly every dealer will have a "military", perhaps even a WWI, section. Some stands will also have separate sections devoted to uniforms, aircraft, ships, vehicles and camps. Further WWI postcards may be found in topographical sections, thus there are postcards showing army camps in various counties; in this case, note that for nearly all of the Great War photography at/of military establishments in Britain was severely restricted and it needs knowledge to determine whether a photograph was taken before, during or after WWI.

Thanks for that. I'm just collecting 'general' ww1 cards at the moment but would like to specialise in the daily mail cards [would love to find out more info on these] and also bombardment pics. I live in Norwich Norfolk but unfortunately cant find any shops to visit around here and the fairs aren't that frequent locally [that I can find anyway] so just buying from the bay at the moment.

Have you tried the Pottergate Shop in Norwich for postcards: they are in Bagleys Court in Pottergate,at the rear of Tesco and opposite the Belgian Monk PH. If you are up to travelling a bit the next Woodbridge postcard fair is on this Saturday 5th March at the Community Hall IP12 4AU

Daily Mail Cards were produced in a number series of 22 sets of 8 - 176 in total. There are variants to look out for too, some being Sepia, some black&white, some printed coloured, some tinted coloured! The backs can be different too - some state Daily Mail War Pictures, some state Daily Mail Battle Pictures. Then there is a different style of the number - some standard numbers, some Roman Numerals... a real nightmare for the serious collector! The later series are harder to find for some reason.
