Hi,

I recently came across Irish postcards by the artist but I couldn't find any information online; anybody shed some light on the artist - birth/death etc.

The cards were published by The Pictorial Stationery Co.Ltd., London.

Thanks in advance.

Seems he only did this one set of Irish Rural Characters with Pictorial Stationary Company... these feature in an article in the April 2015 issue of Picture Postcard Monthly which I will try and source.

I have a copy of an article in the June 2019 issue of Picture Postcard Monthly which focuses on his relationship with the publisher Misch & Stock, with whom he produced nine sets of postcards between c1905 and c1910... it also states that it had not been possible to find anything about Howard's life, and suggesting that he may have died in the 1st World War...

Hi Steve,

Thanks for that information and I'll look forward to seeing what you turn up in the magazine.

I will gladly ask around myself as well if you don't mind. I absolutely adore the art style and would love to learn more about Mr Howard. Also wonder if there was a way to make an online gallery for his art.

Hi there.
I have a full set of postcards of a shipwreck done by Fred S Howard. I'd love to know the name of the boat but I can't find the pictures online. Any ideas please?
I've tried to add a photo to this but the 'insert image' button doesn't work, or I'm doing something wrong?

There is a thread here viewtopic.php?f=17&t=817 that explains how to add a picture :-)

Super set of cards but I'm afraid I can't throw any light on the rescue.
