irish airmail postcards

Greetings,
new to this forum. I have quite a few old Irish postcards that were sent to the USA in 1939, apparently these were the very first to be sent via airmail.
Can anybody confirm this ? I have attached a pic of one of the cards. correction, I cant attach upload for some reason, but here is a link to one I have on ebay (if thats permitted)
