Hello,
I am looking for more information regarding the series of postcards that were created to celebrate Shell's advertising campaigns. I believe there were 10 series issued, of ten postcards each.
Does anyone have any information they can share, such as:
- when they were issued and how? (customers, employees, open market etc?)
- where you might be able to buy or sell these?
- how much they would typically sell for?
- how collectable they are?
- if they are rare?
Many thanks for your help!

Re: Shell Motoring Postcards - Request for Information
The original cards c.1910s are quite rare and fetch £30 - £50 each.
A couple of examples on our sales website...http://sunnyfield.co.uk/dayspast/sub_ca ... dvertising
But beware of the reproduction set produced by Shell in the late 1970's, they were quite good copies though the paper is a different quality. The easy way to spot the repros is the words 'Copyright Reserved' printed on the reverse.
Alan Roman produced a book in the 1990s - 'The Shell Picture Postcard Book' ?... almost certainly out of print but you might find a copy on Google search or Amazon perhaps.
