Great War 7th South Staffs 1917 soldiers photos

Post by marktime124 »

Hello,

I'm looking for a WW1 Soldiers photo ( my grandad ) Cpl Bertie Henry CRICK, S/N 9362 . Killed in Action 17th July 1917, buried St Jan CWG No2, Ypres, Belgium 1917.

Would there be any Military Postcard collectors seeking a home for a soldiers postcard of grandad Bertie from Walsall, Staffs.

The regimental museum may help, but most such museums have very limited resources to handle queries. Sometimes a photo of a soldier appeared in his local newspaper after he'd been killed but, sadly, by 1917 there were so many deaths. Some local major libraries and the local studies centre may have microfilm copies, and I think that you can access old newspapers via FindMyPast and Ancestry.
