The firm of Lilywhite Ltd., Halifax was destroyed by fire in 1931 which may account for your theory that your image dates from the 1930s. The firm's founder went on to work for Raphael Tuck in the 1930s too...

Be great to see the list of what you have...
An interesting publisher... the IXL series produced London scenes, both coloured and real photo, as well as printed scenes of East Anglia.

Regretfully not a postcard... these are usually designed for sending a letter from abroad. The idea is that the folded paper sheet will act as a cheap missive with a message to send home to loved ones... many I have seen have pre-paid postage on them.

I don't believe that the two companies Wrench and Valentine worked together. It is more likely that they may have both been approached by the original photographer to publish the image. Or that one company sold on the image to the other. Both these scenarios were commonplace at the time... major pub...
