Joining the Postcard Traders Association
Membership of the organisation is open to anyone over the age of eighteen who is dealing in Picture Postcards, accessories or associated services. Postcards or related accessories are expected to constitute a major percentage of business. With regard to a firm or company, membership is granted to one nominated representative.
All applications for membership have to be made in writing
to the Committee of the Association via the Honorary Secretary. Prospective
members are required to furnish a few personal details, such as their
trading history, details of any other employment and their bankers.
If they are 'known' within the Postcard trade it is usually a requirement
that that their application is signed by two current PTA members.
Membership Forms can be obtained from the Hon. Secretary
or by downloading the file here which is in Acrobat (.pdf) format.
The Committee has the right to refuse membership to a prospective applicant without having to give its reasons, although this right would only be exercised with very good cause.
If passed by the Committee, the applicant is informed that his application has been provisionally accepted. The applicant's name is then printed in the next issue of our newsletter "PTA News", in order that other PTA members can raise any objections that they may have. Unless of a serious nature, any objections raised would not necessarily preclude membership being granted.
